Google makes its money on advertising. Those little ads you see on the right hand side of the screen when you search for anything, those ads are PPC ads. What that means is that if you click on one of those ads, Google charges the advertiser anywhere from 10 cents to 10 Dollars depending on how popular and competitive that keyword is.

Example: You are running an offer as an affiliate marketer. Let’s say the offer is for a dating campaign and every time someone signs up you make $5 in commission. You decide to run a PPC campaign and decide to bid on the keyword “romance”.

Let us assume that Google charges you $1 every time someone clicks on you ad. If your commission is $5, that means- one in five people who click have to sign up with that dating site in order for you to break even. If one in ten people sign up, you made $5 but it cost you $10, so in essence you lost $5. The beauty of PPC is that if done right and with the right offers, you could spend $5 and make $10 all day long  (I hope I didn’t loose you).

The other side of the coin might be that, you spent $500 with a Google PPC campaign and made 50 sales or $1,500 leaving you with a cool $1,000 in profits. See what I mean.

CPA Marketing is a great and exciting business when done right. The learning curve is steep, but the rewards could be exceptional.
