One of his quotes that I really take to heart is “Alhamdu lillah that I knew Islam before I knew Muslims” and I can know exactly why he said that… I kind of got caught in the same thing

This isn’t a question. It’s a needlessly copied and needlessly long religious anecdote from an overrated 70s folk star.
I respect his decision to choose any religion he wanted. I just miss his beautiful and spirit-filled music. I feel that along with many others on this planet, perhaps he chose a religion to escape the life he had created. I have known many people who did this around 29 to 30 years old. In all of them, it is like they left something very essential behind, something god-given. I listen to songs by Cat Stevens even today, and it makes my spirit fly. What was so wrong with creating something that created that reaction in people? We miss you, Cat.

Yes. I’ve heard &read about his story in magazine & through internet. Alhamdulillah. Allah gives light to those He Wills. We know that Cat Steven/ Yusuf Islam was once a pop singer& is still a singer now with beautiful Islamic songs. Islam is beautiful. Don’t bother what others say coz they just don’t really know about Islam. Islam is universal, Islam is the best way of life
and a lot of others.
